Experiencing Abundant Life by Relating with the Lord who is the Resurrection and the Life

God wants you to experience abundant life. How so?

Messiah Yeshua-Jesus was crucified, and on the third day was resurrected victorious over the powers of sin and death. Revelation 1:18 records how He had the keys to hell and death. So in conquering death, He opened the way to eternal life. He, therefore, affirmed His authority over Satan and dominion over the physical and spiritual world. The apostles, however, made a point that we fight a spiritual battle, as “the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8).

So the Feast of Trumpets serves to remind us who we herald and honor as King of kings! It also reminds us of the importance of resisting His adversary the devil, being vigilant in spiritual warfare and diligent in growing in virtue, knowledge and the love of God.

RELEVANCE

So the Lord came as the Messiah-King to be the final sacrifice and reconciliation for sin. Those placing faith in Him are justified before God in His righteousness. Beyond being justified, however, the Lord sacrificed His life so you could have abundant life!

He has accomplished more through His sacrificial blood than a single day of confession could ever possibly do! He defeated the enemy of our soul and won the battle over the power of sin and death. By the power and authority of His resurrection, all those who put their faith in Him are justified before God and delivered from His judgment into eternal life.

To illustrate this point, the Lord raised a man, Lazarus, who had been in a tomb for four days. He did this, “for God’s glory, so that the Son of God may receive glory through it.”  (John 11:4 JNT)  He, therefore, declared:

I AM the Resurrection and the Life! Whoever puts his trust in me will live, even if he dies; and everyone living and trusting in me will never die.” (John 11:25-26 JNT)

So by placing trusting faith in the Lord, you become united with Him by faith. Therefore, your soul is justified before God to live for eternity. We also nurture our new abundant life in the Lord by looking for ways we can grow in faith and in the the Lord’s virtues. As a result, we experience greater measures of the new life of the Holy Spirit. So God is glorified.

REFLECT AND RELATE

How do you honor the King, your Lord and Savior daily?

Paul gained a real revelation of living in the Lord. He embraced and lived in accordance with two profound principles. How might you apply these principles in your own life daily?

1) to “know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.” (Philippians 3:11)

2) “I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.” (1 Corinthians 15:31)

In what ways can you see the reality of tapping into God’s capacity, and growing greater measures of faith and in the Lord’s virtues? For some insights see 2 Peter 1:2-11.
