Woven throughout the book of Isaiah are several overarching themes.
- Those open to God’s ways are comforted by God
- Those seeking real hope in life will find it in God
- Real fulfillment in life is found through a personal relationship with God
- God’s double-edge sword of mercy and justice will be manifested in the earth
- The secrets of our inner hearts will be exposed by God’s light
- The hearts of God’s sanctified children are marked for His glory
- Our relationship with God is sealed by His election of grace
- Our standing with God is grounded in the Messiahship of His Son
- God’s kind of worship will eternally be characterized in a way He terms, “in spirit and truth”
Throughout Isaiah, God communicates messages pointing to times of transition, transformation and revival. For, times of transition are first necessary to draw God’s people back to Him. Times of transformation are then necessary to change the hearts and attitudes of people in order to facilitate revival and restore the quality of relationship God intends to have with His people of faith.
